Born in West Berlin to Vietnamese parents, Nhat Quang Tran grew up somewhere between cultures, disciplines and expectations. Not a bad place to learn how to see things differently.
Over the past 25 years, he’s made a career out of challenging the expected, bending the rules and occasionally breaking things to make something better. From feature films to commercials, from pixels to people, he’s never been particularly interested in doing things just because that’s how they’ve always been done. An award-winning VFX Supervisor turned Creative Director, Nhat has worked with some of the industry’s most celebrated directors, agencies and brands, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Marvel Studios and Heineken.
Along the way, he’s led studios, built teams and collaborated with creative misfits at The Mill, where he helped develop HoloDrive, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in virtual production, as well as nhb, Spellwork and Storz + Escherich. He believes the best ideas rarely come from playing it safe. That technology should open doors, not dictate what’s behind them. And that the occasional happy accident deserves more credit than the perfectly executed plan.
Now at ARC Creative, he’s here to question the obvious, embrace the unexpected and make work worth staying up all night for. Because playing it safe is rarely worth the pixels.
